Reliance Jio Experience Center Exhibits Jio’s Services and Upcoming Digital Plans for India

October 19, 2016

Reliance Jio’s foray into the telecom sector set off a digital revolution in the country, when the company opened its high-speed digital services to the public. Jio, the world’s largest start-up has been making steady progress, with its customer base rising exponentially.

Reliance Jio’s services range from premium voice and video calls to a plethora of applications like Jio Money and MyJio. All these facilities are currently free for customers under Jio’s welcome offer, which is valid till the end of 2016.

Jio Experience Center

Since the telecom company has set a benchmark through its affordable 4G services, Reliance Industries (RIL) has taken the onus of offering interested individuals the chance to catch a glimpse of the entire Jio digital ecosystem through the Jio Experience Center. The center not only explains Jio’s unique services but also offers insights into the telecom brand’s future plans to redefine the digital sector in India. It includes 24 experience zones, which are further categorized into 11 clusters.

Access to SIM Cards through technology-aided eKYC machines

One of the clusters gave an insight into Jio’s easy SIM card purchase procedure through an eKYC machine, which only requires a customer’s Aadhaar card for verification. It exhibited how an eKYC machine scans a customer’s Aadhaar card, thereby making the process fast and free of errors. Activation of the SIM card follows soon after through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) verification procedure.

Easy data transfer with ‘SwitchToJio’

Data transfer from one device to another is conventionally executed by a retailer and entails transferring a user’s data from his old phone to a new phone with the help of a computer. Doing this procedure often involves high risks like privacy breach or even loss of important data. However, a new app called ‘SwitchToJio’ by Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio offers convenient transfer of important phone data to a new device, wherein devices are securely connected through the application and data transfer can be done without a user’s privacy being compromised.

Net Velocity

Another point of focus at the experience center is the Net Velocity app, which allows users to not only check their Internet connection speed but also send across their feedback to the Jio team. This is beneficial for users as their Internet issues can be directly addressed without inconvenience.

Other demonstrations

The Jio Experience Center also showcases current offerings by the telecom brand like its VoLTE feature, which allows even a non-VoLTE phone user to enjoy a premium call experience. The diverse features of the wallet app, Jio Money are also showcased at the center, which enables users to avail of exclusive offers at stores and make payments easily.

One of the most interesting segments at the center is the demonstration on how a car can become a smart car through the JioCarConnect application. It lets users connect their smart phone to the car and enable functions like lock-unlock and remote location tracker.

The center also focuses on Jio’s upcoming plans which include the JioFiber 1Gbps Connection. In addition to this it also exhibited technology models that would be used in the future, enabling users to connect their television sets to smart IoT devices, speakers, and cameras.

Nita Ambani Desires for India to Become a Multi-Sport Nation

October 14, 2016

Nita Ambani aims to transform the lives of millions of Indians through Reliance Foundation (RF) and various other initiatives. Her programs are aimed at devising contemporary solutions that help tackle or eradicate problems faced in the country. She has spearheaded several initiatives in the fields of healthcare, sports, and rural transformation, among others.

Nita Ambani and sports

Nita Ambani dreams of a brighter future for India, of it being wholly accepting and encouraging of multiple sport disciplines. She believes that all influential individuals like teachers, coaches, and parents should strive to instill the love of sports in children. Instead of being just another chore, sports should be integrated into the Indian school curriculum, thereby helping students to be more active and physically fit.

By focusing on multiple sports, the scope of growth and development of these children and consequently the country is widened. In order to do so, she states that there is extensive work to be done in terms of the infrastructure available in the country. This would supplement the hard work of the coaches, thereby creating an appropriate platform for talented individuals.

The field of football

Nita Ambani stated how overwhelmed she felt on the support she received for her football initiative, the Indian Super League (ISL). She said that in addition to the fan support, even the franchise owners had a competitive spirit, which contributed to the overall success of the league. On the 12th of October, 2014, the ISL helped start a football revolution in the country, and the league is now in its third run. The first of its kind, the league was the talk of the town and helped popularize the sport. Nita Ambani elaborated on a few challenges faced in the ISL, one of them being the infrastructure. She said that the team had to work a lot to prepare the football pitches and venues for matches.

The ISL’s grassroots program

The league considers its grassroots initiatives to be extremely integral to the development of football in the country. It has laid down a long-term strategic plan that will be incorporated and followed by its clubs. Reliance Foundation’s Young Champs program is also designed to scout and train young children in the sport. They will be selected and trained at an RF facility in Navi Mumbai. This unique scholarship program is a full-time one and is focused on coaching them while also ensuring they receive quality education.

Nita Ambani is paving the way for the development of different sports by working at the grassroots as well as other levels through the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), Reliance Foundation (RF), as well as the Indian Super League (ISL).

Nita Ambani explains that many Indian parents are wary of their children taking up sports as a profession and that this belief needs to be changed immediately. She believes that all sports can be lucrative and that by creating financially attractive opportunities in the same, Indian sports can become globally recognized.

Nita Ambani, through several initiatives and programs, is working towards transforming India into a multi-sport nation.

Reliance Jio, the newest entrant to the rapidly growing telecom industry in India has made a tremendous impact with its superior 4G offerings. The recent update on its growing popularity indicates that the telecom company has managed to garner a whopping 16 million users within 26 days of being launched.

Reliance Jio’s rapid growth

Reliance Jio  made a successful foray during its welcome offer launch, building a user base of approximately three million users. Post the commercial launch of its services, Jio managed to add 13 million more users to its existing customer base. This achievement made Jio one of the only operators to have managed a subscription rate of this scale. The company released a statement that declared Jio to be one of the fastest start-ups to record such a high growth rate, even surpassing counterparts like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Skype.

Reliance Jio’s marketing strategy is one of the integral factors that have resulted in the company’s rapid growth. This involves offering unlimited data services and premium applications for free till the end of 2016.

Jio on its way to reaching 100 million users

Mukesh Ambani had stated during Reliance Industries Limited’s (RIL) 42ND annual general meeting that Jio aims to target 100 million users in the shortest time span. He added that the same would lead to a 250 crore GB (gigabyte) of data usage every month.

Today, not only is Jio on its way to achieving the set target, but also giving rivals a run for their money by offering affordable tariff plans to users. Incumbent operators have been affected by Jio’s marketing strategy, which aims to offer free data services to users till December 31st 2016. Thereafter, Jio will continue to offer high-speed 4G services to customers at minimum rates with 10 tariff plans. According to these plans, occasional data consumers can subscribe for the Rs. 19 per day plan while low data consumers can opt for the Rs. 149 per month scheme. Additionally, those who require high amounts of data can choose the Rs. 4,999 per month plan.

Mukesh Ambani expressed his views on Jio’s success by stating that he was not only delighted but also humbled by the response. He particularly emphasized on Jio’s aim to empower Indians by providing them with affordable data services. This has been introduced across 3100 cities in India. The procedure is hassle-free as it only takes a few minutes for SIM card activation, which makes it a smooth experience for customers. Reliance Jio stated that it intends to introduce the same process across every region in India, with regular improvisation to stabilize the system.
